For many people life is a mess. A messy life is more than clutter, it is a mindset, a worldview many prescribe to – my life is a mess.
Life is not kind of a mess or even a beautiful mess. You either believe life is a mess, or life is amazing, abundant, overflowing with goodness. It cannot believe both.
5 reasons life is not a mess
This is 100% spiritual
Worldview is the lens you use to perceive and interact with the world. Many people view the world with the lens, “life is a mess.” Many Christians view the world through that lens.
Proverbs 23:7 (NKJV) For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
Satan wants us to buy the lie of a messy life. It seems normal. Don’t believe it to be your destiny.
It is just not Biblical.
The belief that life is a mess is not Biblical. It is living by sight, not faith.
John 10:10 I came to give you life in a mess. Jesus came to you to enjoy more and better life. More and better. Not bigger and messier. Life will feel full and busy, but it does not have to be messy.
Jeremiah 29:11 I know the plans I have for you, plans to give you a great big mess of a life.
2 Corinthians 6:18 Ever changing from mess to beautiful mess.
Your life is not a mess. It is glorious. It is victorious. It is beautiful. It is thriving.
Just because it looks messy, doesn’t mean it is messy
Yes, life can look messy.
Paul – beaten, stoned, shipwrecked, dangerous situations, without food, sleep, water. He fought the good fight. Finished the race.
Jacob – four wives, twelve sons, but he never stopped going after more. He never stopped fighting for more.
Job – loses his children, wealth, repulsive to his wife, has boils, friends gave hopeless advice. He never cursed God. It was restored.
Job 42:12a So the Lord blessed Job in the second half of his life even more than in the beginning.
We serve a God who works things together for good. Chaos to order does not happen on its own. It is supernatural. Chaos into order is the supernatural intervention of God – a miracle.
You don’t have to be perfect
Philippians 3:12-14 I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
Life is not perfect. There is one thing to do: forget the past. Look forward. Let go.
Bought with a price
Oscar fractured his elbow. We spent $3000 fixing his elbow. We did not pay the price, so his elbow could remain fractured. We paid the price so it would be healed.
Matthew 7:11 So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.
If you know to pay the price for your child to be healed, how much more your Father in heaven?
Jesus didn’t die for you to stay broken, a mess. He paid a price.
1 Corinthians 6:20 For God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.
Honour God. Have the right worldview. A messy life does not honour God. It is not humble. A victorious life honours God.
Jesus paid the price for you. Don’t be broken any longer. Your life is not a mess.
